Luma Ray 3.2 example output

Luma Ray 3.2

Stylised, dreamlike cinematic motion. Keyframe control. Seamless loops.

Luma Ray 3.2 is the successor to Ray 2 and the flagship of Luma's agent-native API generation, with prompt enhancement built into the pipeline. It generates cinematic clips from text or image at 5 or 10 seconds, with start and end frame keyframe control, a seamless loop option, and six aspect ratios including the new 1:1. Where other models chase strict photorealism, Ray 3.2's strength is stylised, surreal, dreamlike motion that reads as directed cinema.

Example outputs

A seamless loop: ink blooming through water in the shape of a city skyline, deep indigo against warm paper tones, title-sequence energy

Luma Ray 3.2 example 4

A concept car gliding through a fog-filled forest at dawn, headlights carving volumetric beams, trees bending past in surreal slow parallax

Luma Ray 3.2 example 5

Start frame to end frame: a sketch of a pavilion on a drafting table dissolving into the finished building at golden hour, one continuous camera move

Luma Ray 3.2 example 6

A staircase that folds and rebuilds itself as the camera ascends, Escher-like geometry, soft museum lighting, square format for social

Cinematic video with a taste for the surreal.

Every video model can render a product on a turntable. Far fewer can make a corridor breathe, a city fold in on itself, or a dress dissolve into smoke without the shot falling apart. That is where Luma Ray 3.2 earns its place in the roster. Luma's models have always leaned cinematic rather than clinical, and Ray 3.2 pushes that further: stylised, surreal, dreamlike motion that holds together as a directed shot. For title sequences, fashion film, music-video moods, brand pieces, and any brief where atmosphere is the deliverable, this is the model to reach for.

Ray 3.2 is part of Luma's new agent-native API generation, which means prompt enhancement is built in. Write a short direction and the model expands it into a properly staged shot before generating, so you spend less time engineering prompts and more time directing. Control stays in your hands where it matters: supply a start frame and the model generates forward from that composition, add an end frame and it builds the transition between the two, or set both for a precisely bookended shot. Loop mode blends the final frame back into the first for seamless repeating clips, ideal for digital signage, event backdrops, and web headers.

Clips run 5 or 10 seconds from text or image. Generation starts from a 540p base with 720p and 1080p tiers for client-ready output, at the same price Ray 2 sold for. Six aspect ratios cover delivery: 16:9 for decks and YouTube, 21:9 for ultrawide cinema, 9:16 for Reels and TikTok, 4:3 and 3:4 for portfolio grids, and 1:1, new in this generation, for square social placements. For cheap, fast exploration, draft with Luma Ray 2 Flash and promote the keeper takes to Ray 3.2 for the final render.

Stylised motion with built-in direction

Ray 3.2 is tuned for the shots that sit between photography and dream: surreal transitions, painterly light, impossible camera moves that still feel intentional. The agent-native pipeline enhances your prompt before generation, staging the shot like a director's treatment rather than rendering keywords. The result is footage with a point of view, not just motion.

Keyframe and loop control

Set a start frame, an end frame, or both. The model generates the motion between them while preserving composition and subject identity. Loop mode creates seamless cycles for repeating content. These controls turn Ray 3.2 from a generation tool into a direction tool.

Six aspect ratios, including 1:1

16:9, 21:9, 1:1, 4:3, 3:4, and 9:16, all generated natively rather than cropped. The square format is new to this generation and lands directly in feed-ready shape for Instagram and LinkedIn. Pick the delivery format up front and the composition is framed for it from the first frame.
